One of my favorite spot in south bank, Very nice to sit down on the lawn and have a drink, especially beautiful sunny days.

Lovely roof top café with river views and a garden maintained by volunteers. Seems little known and is much quieter than the numerous coffee shops below

Nice and cosy rooftop with amazing views at sunset.

Lovely "secret spot" above the Southbank Centre. Shame it's not open more often though! A great place to have your own picnic if you don't want the hustle and bustle of the main drag. Surprisingly, also a great spot for birdwatching!

Great rooftop bar in the summer. Lovely place to chill out and look over the Thames. Access is via the bright yellow concrete stairs (not great for those with limited mobility). There is now toilet on the roof level, you have to go right down to the Royal Festival Hall. Can get busy on really sunny days, they limit the numbers, but you don't find out until you've walked all the way up the stairs. Otherwise, highly recommended.

Excellent place during the summer months. The ideal place to drink and chill

Lovely garden hidden away at the upper level. Quite hard to get a table on a sunny day but really worth the wait.

Basic range of drinks, but lovely views and seating on a sunny day. Bar staff are great, but shame about the incredibly rude door men on the stairs (There are no toilets upstairs, so I popped to the bathroom after checking I could get back straight back in and they refused to let me back in. I had to queue for 10 minutes just to collect my bag from upstairs and was late for a show.)
