it's a incredible live performance venue - at least the acoustic is top notch from the target market facet - however each time I play right here it seems like i'm a soloist located miles far from other performers at the degree ( even when i am playing in a full symphony orchestra!) So pretty nerve racking. appears to be thoroughly controlled although:) permit's desire it opens up again soon.it is a disgrace that concert events are presently cancelled because of the pandemic:(
It's a fantastic concert venue - at least the acoustic is great from the audience side - but every time I play here it feels like I am a soloist positioned miles away from other performers on the stage ( even when I am playing in a full symphony orchestra!) Spacious and airy. Has never seemed too crowded. The kind of space it's nice to wander into even when not seeing a concert (unlike most venues).
A concert venue on the South Bank. Opened in 1951, it was thoroughly renovated in 2007. It is the home of the London Philharmonic Orchestra and can seat 2700 persons. Waterloo is the nearest Underground station.
This venue has always held a place in my heart. From the fountains out the front in the summer to the food market at the back there is always something going on around the Festival Hall. They have the most wonderful events, they are all so diverse there is always something for everyone. I highly recommend looking over the schedule, it’s a delight.
First time I came here was in 1974 to see Rick Wakemans' first ever performance of his "Journey to the Centre of the Earth", and some 45 years later I'm back to see the final performances. Great venue, great staff, and a great time.
The nearest underground is Waterloo station. Also you can bring some food and drink. There is a terrace with great view. You can take it there :) Also don't take a video.. :( Please enjoy the moment.
