I found this hidden gem of a restaurant on Open Table and last night I had an incredible meal with a service to match. We tried the tasting menu and every course was truly fantastic (we especially loved the Turbot and Lobster dishes). The staff were friendly and professional and genuinely we had one of the best meals so please do check out this place. At the end of the evening we ended up chatting with the Manager and talked how Covid has had an impact and like most restaurants they have been hit hard which is a real shame as this place is genuinely a real gem of a restaurant in Soho. We couldn’t fault the food and service and I highly recommended anyone to try this place. We were fortunate enough to eat at a very famous 3 Michelin Star restaurant last week and I thought this was as good (if not better) so please do support this restaurant as I can’t recommend them enough!!

We ate here in August and have only just got round to reviewing, partly as i have had a few significantly better dining experiences in the meantime. Starting with the positives, some very well presented and varied fish courses, highlights were the cavier garnished sashimi (although it tasted like lumpfish but tasty nevertheless) and the hot stone seared scallops. Also, the waiter/somellier was freindly, helpful and accommodating, and generally gave us good pairings tailored to personal preferences. Things went downhill when I found a hair in one course. The dish was replaced, and I was given a small top up of wine (1/4 glass). I have just been in a similar restaurant, where the same event resulted in the offer of one menu being removed from the bill (I refused the gesture, thanked them but felt that was over the top for a genuine mistake. Nevertheless, the fact they took it so seriously gave a much better vibe than Sola did). Then, some of the dishes were underwhelming for the price point. The Mackeral for example crossed the line from delicate to just a bit bland. Overall, it was a nice dinner but north of 200pp there are definitely better options around.

The food at Sola is stunning. The 55 set menu includes beautiful canapés, 3 food courses and dessert. Wine list is superb too. Not a cheap night out but food is out of this world, perfect for a special occasion
