My daughter attended “St Anne’s” RC school from Nursery to year 1 (3 years all together) She was transferred to another school in Lambeth but she loved her old school. The facility is very well designed. The classes are well lit with direct access to the playground. The playground is very interesting and stimulating there is quiet garden, outdoors Gym equipment, and climbing frames. Bicycle/scooters storage provided. Nursery and reception is in a separate area with lots of toys and interesting things to do. First class and could be an example for other schools. The school is in a very busy area. The air pollution is very high. Since Tfl put more pressure on tackling diesel cars it must be improving. I heard about some sort plans to grow more plants around the school to protect the children. As a parent I was concerned about this issue. The office was always very friendly and helpful. 5 stars. In the morning and in the afternoon parents are allowed to enter the school grounds. Parents with children are gathering in front of the classes that gives an opportunity to integrate. The teachers are present and that gives an extra opportunity for any queries. Thanks to that the community bond is strong. At 9am there is a prayer that’s when the classes are open. At the time when my daughter attended the school, the school was weak on after school clubs. In terms of teaching... It looked like there was a lot of focus on teaching English but not so much Math. My daughter was ahead in English but behind with maths. And there seemed to be a lack of math books to take home to practice. A lot of teaching and focus was done through play. Maybe that’s why she loves the school till today (she learned a lot of things at the same time) Dojo points were used to discipline children. Better system than the one used in my daughter’s current school.
