This statue in Greenwich stands in tribute to King George II. The last British monarch born outside the country and also that last to have participated in a battle until Prince Andrew and Prince Harry. He's mainly remembered for his mistresses, short temper, and boorishness. This statue depicts the George as a Roman Emperor and is wearing military uniform. In his right hand he holds a sceptre and an orb in the left. The statue is badly worn which is a bit of a shame, and the face is totally worn off. If it wasn't on the head, I wouldn't have known it was a face. There's no real reason to go out of the way to see it. It is near the old Naval College, so visit it you're in the area and even then it's probably not worth it.
