Vauxhall City Farm is a lovely, small farm close to Vauxhall station. They have a one way system now (because of COVID) but it was a great visit nonetheless. The way through is paved concrete and you can see several rabbits, chickens and turkeys in the first area. A little further down are the alpacas, sheep, goats and pig. The pig was a bit antisocial on my visit but the goats, sheep and alpacas are used to visitors and come close to the fence as they expect to be fed. It is a lovely place to visit to break the monotony, for a short date or with kids :)
Nice management during this time. One way system and hand washing are well-encouraged. Love it!
Farm is small but thoroughly enjoyed feeding goats and sheep. Given it works on a donation basis it's brilliant. Only bit that would have topped it off is getting to hold rabbits and Guinea pigs but I understand at this time that's not available. I have been told you can book special visits to feed the alpacas which I will definitely be doing! Very friendly staff on entering the farm staying cool under pressure when not so thoughtful (putting it nicely) people were frustrated about having to wait due to distancing.
It was such a great discovery when we found this farm in the outskirts of central London! It's tiny, but there is a good variety of friendly animals who look well looked after and quite eager to greet visitors. If feeding them, make sure you only use seeds provided by the farm. It must be so good for children of the local area to have a farm at walking distance - otherwise they may never have got the chance to see a farm animal in real life! Definitely worth a visit.
A nice spot for city kids to go to see animals they likely won’t otherwise see and it’s free. The farm accepts donations should you wish to contribute to the animal upkeep. It’s a pretty small set up and while the smaller animals have adequate space in which to live, the larger animals suffer from a lack of space and spend much of their time in small, concrete enclosures. We did see the horses getting a little exercise in the paddock opposite though. It has a cafe, but unless you want cake/ice cream they don’t seem to serve food.
Great place for kids you can feed animals hold them but you need to pay little money only 20p for food and make sure you wash your hands afterward. It was really good experience
