A great museum with many exhibitions on modern art. It's always a pleasure to be there and even more to collaborate on new projects. I took away many interesting impressions. Moreover, it is free of charge and provides a lot of nice staff.

The Whitechapel Gallery is a public art gallery in Whitechapel on the north side of Whitechapel High Street, in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Designed by Charles Harrison Townsend, it was opened in 1901 as one of the first publicly funded galleries for temporary exhibitions in London, and it has a long track record for education and outreach projects, focused on local people. It exhibits the work of contemporary artists, as well as organising retrospective exhibitions and shows that are of interest to the local community.

Very quaint but fulfilling experience. The gallery was very clean, temperatures were taken open entry and crowd control in all the rooms made me feel safe. The little cade and a apor to sit and read or reflect made it a very good experience

YOU AND HIS DAY

I stopped into the Whitechapel gallery whilst waiting for a friend. The space is very carefully curated & takes advantage of some unique angles. I really liked the use of negative space to compliment the artwork on display. The bookshop is great as well! Bonus feature: Big fan of the staircase design, which let's in a lot of natural skylight.

Museum level gallery. I love that it combines old and modern spaces from exposed brick to pure white walls, to magnificent works of art from relevant artists. Plus, an amazing library with spectacular titles! Also, the staff are super friendly and helpful—a unique experience and a MUST for anyone who enjoys art.

A lovely building and gallery space in a vibrant part of London. Hopefully, we’ll be able to visit again next year when life gets back to normal.

I enjoyed the free display - booked online this Thursday but was able to book just before visit- then stayed and bought ticket for the painting show. A relaxing visit with measures in place that made it feel safe and comfortable under current circumstances. Lovely staff. The painting show wasn't to my personal taste but enjoyed the room about their process and then a conversation with an invigilator really brought out interest in what I was looking at (thank you to the man who talked about the Moseley paintings). A really nice first gallery visit post lock down.

Like all venues these days, includes temperature check, masking wearing experience but the art makes it worthwhile.
