The hotspot is maintained by WiFi.London so the organisation does not need to worry about having an efficient, up-to-date, secure service at all times. The service includes splash pages (user-friendly access pages), blocking of inappropriate sites, social media integrations, PCI/DSS security, visitor reporting, and weekly summary emails. Organisations with multiple locations get detailed and local summaries. The access points themselves are standalone devices made by Cisco and plug into existing network connections. Evaluation units are free of charge to qualified businesses so anyone can try out the service before joining. The service is ideal for any small or organisation wanting to provide a guest WiFi service for their customers or users. Installations have been ranged from cafes to campsites and even a church bell tower.
