Awful....So Mt. Vernon has gotten worse. They charge 50cent more a gallon of fuel than anywhere and now are raising what is already to high food prices due to corona they say.. Mt. Vernon grocery was called grocery because it offered alot of things the grocery store would have... This was when it was locally owned and operated. Foreigners took over turned the store upside down and jacked up the prices and don't seem to care about customer relations.. If the place gets better I'll change this

This is a great grocery store that has been in the area for some time. They offer a very competitive general store pricing on gas and other items. They're also a good source for propane refills

I would give 5 stars, but the portion sizes have changed and that's the only thing that throws me. Other than that Mt. Vernon is an awesome little country store. They almost do it all: check cashing, hardware store, gas station, restaurant, fertilizer, animal feed. I only go here for reasonably priced hot dogs and dinners though. There are dinner specials everyday except Sunday when the store is closed. One drawback to gasoline here is that they have THE highest gas prices in the Loris/Red Bluff/Longs area (there's literally 4 gas stations within 10 miles with cheaper prices). Then again, you can pull up when they are closed and still fill up. Pick the pro or con kinda situation.
