I barely saw anything, yet I enjoyed my time greatly. I look forward to bringing my son back and walking some trails. Today, I just walked by the water and enjoyed the shoreline.

Visited recently for the 1st time (working on getting to all of our local parks during the pandemic). Mason Neck is definitely one of our favorites! We strolled one of the many trails, Bay View. We saw turtles; splashes of color from flowers still in bloom and leaves turning orange, yellow and red; passed small, sandy spots by the water where adults were enjoying watching their children or pets play. The area is well maintained, clean, safe. We will return again to hike the other trails!

This is really a great park. It is not very large but absolutely beautiful, with a network of trails (with a lot of signals and arrows) between the bay and the wood, with many wood bridges and some \over the water\ walkway (in the ones near the water) . You can also have some bird watching. There are also bike trails. Hiking trails are not very difficult, with some short stairs (not difficult), and really enjoyable also for families .... Entry fee is 7 per car and it's definitely worth it!

This place is absolutely amazing. There’s a 10 entrance fee. The main entrance has bathrooms, picnic tables, a welcome center, I believe a playground and plenty of grassy areas for kids to play. There’s trails to hike as well. It has a very low key beach area which is perfect to watch the sunset from as you can see. The shore is pretty long and the water is very shallow. The walk to the beach area is very nice with some sandy narrow paths that consist of wooden stairs and boardwalks overlooking the water on one side and the wetlands on the other.

Nice open spaces. Trails aren’t well marked though. Because of the leaves, staying on the path is a bit difficult, but it’s still worth visiting.
