Went to see Dr. Matt at the Berman Skin Institute, Palo Alto, for a skin ailment. Not only did he diagnose the ailment right away but his prescribed medicine worked like magic. He was very kind and put me at ease about my ailment. Later on when I had some queries about the medicine dosage, he even gave me his cell phone number. He was extremely gentle, attentive, responsive and accurate in replying to my text messages. He gets 5 stars from me. Thank you Dr. Matt and the Berman Skin Institute.

This office is great. I have been a patient for over 4 years and every time I come into the office I am treated with wonderful service. They know my name and act like they genuinely care. I am not just a number to them. Even if they have a person working that I have never seen they say hi when I pass them in the hallway. It seems very friendly and upbeat. The other day when I was leaving and making my next appointment in 6 months to see Dr. Berman, he walked by and gave me a candy bar and said "have some chocolate". The receptionist laughed and told me it was chocolate Friday. I guess they give out chocolate to the staff and patients on Friday..nice touch. I am a loyal patient and would highly recommend the Berman Skin Institute. I have been to other dermatology offices, but this is by far the best.

I have been a patient of the Berman Skin Institute Palo Alto office for about 8 years. I love the office and the staff. It is well run and the staff treat me like family. I would recommend highly recommend Dr. Berman and his staff for all of your dermatology needs.

I had an FUE done a year ago in April 2018 with a poor outcome from Dr. Berman. Perhaps, the ARTIS can work for mild cases in the 1 to 3 range of baldness, but anything beyond that is a waste of time and money. I flew down to meet Dr. Berman in person to see if I was a good candidate as I had heard the ARTIS was the latest and greatest thing. Dr. Berman said I was indeed a good candidate (surprise, even though I'm a class 5). 2500 to 3000 hair grafts isn't going to make a difference on bald head that is class 5. Dr. Berman should have just said that upfront and slept well knowing that he saved someone the expense and pain of going through a hair transplant for no reason. But the 20k sale overruled what was in the patient's best interest. I expressed my disappointment at our 9 month follow-up and he recommended another FUE as well as adding some Toppik hair thickener. I obviously passed on another procedure and am in the process of trying to correct this nightmare with another physician. If you want to go from bald to really bad thinning hair that looks like it was stamped on your head then this is the place for you per my pics.

The service is awful. The staff is not properly trained. The information they provide about their procedures are not accurate. They do not care one bit about customer satisfaction and outcome of the procedures. All they care about it collecting money. I will never go back to this place. I have told all of my friends and family about my experience here and they have all stopped going as well.

Had the Artas 3000 follicle FUE procedure a few years ago, so I've had time to see the results. Spoke to 2 other Artas doctors who advised me not to have 3000 harvested in one session and implanted over 2 days because, according to them, a significant % of the hair follicles would not survive. They were right. I paid 19k and the back of my head looks like there's a hole in it. The follicles NEVER really grew in! Still need to use toppik. The front looks good, since it was done the same day the follicles were harvested. I was waiting months and months and months for the back scalp to grow in and it never substantially did. Berman showed me before and after photos of someone he claimed did the 3000 but returned to have the back scalp area redone to add more follicles. I should have paid attention to that remark. I feel I would have been better off having all 3000 in one day. It's no bargain to have 3000 done if the 2nd day's results look so sparse. I do believe in Artas, but not the method Berman used. The reason may be that Artas charges the doctor as pay per use (per harvest attempt). Why use the machine twice when once is cheaper, even though the patient suffers the consequences? The follicle viability on the 2nd day was less for me. On YELP the number of 1 ratings is obscene. Not to mention the one ratings that were YELP removed because they cursed him out or violated YELP terms. I overheard his staff refer to him as LORD BERMAN. I'd be careful trusting this guy. Buyer beware.
