This gastropub has an industrial-style setting. Owners Andrew Wong and Andrew Chiu wanted patrons to have a relaxing place to unwind and enjoy Beijing street food along with a refreshing drink. An appetizer of blanched kale with shallot sauce or a lotus root salad are popular choices at Peking Tavern. Guests can dine on a plate of handmade pork and crab dumplings, beef soup with hand-pulled noodles and Chinese sauerkraut or a scallion pancake filled with sliced pork belly. Gluten-free and vegetarian dishes can also be found on the menu. ing Tavern was voted Best of DTLA 2016 winner for Chinese food. It features a full bar that offers cocktails and more. This gastropub has a happy hour and hosts events throughout the year like Ping Pong Sundays.

This is one of my favorite places to come for Chinese food. We got a soup while we put in our Order for food and it was very good. The food came out relatively quickly even though we ordered a lot. Amazing service, nice people, and the greatest food. I came here with a few of my friends and we order family style - we got sweet n sour chicken, another chicken dish, the filet mignon French style which was amazing and fresh and also the chow fun with beef with comes on top of noodles! Highly recommend the egg drop soup as well as a fried rice. Definitely can't get enough of here i absolutely love it. We will be back lol

[Originally posted on yelp on 4/4/2019] The interior design was really trying to be very \Chinese\ - the red lanterns, big pink plastic flowers, wooden folding screen, plates with the character 福 (luck), and they even have two little red stone lion standing on the shelf.. all these efforts reminded me of these Hongkong ancient movies and made me want to laugh. Compared to the entertaining design, the food was very disappointing. The fried chicken wings had literally zero taste. The spicy beef noodle soup - let's just say it's no where close to either authentic Chinese beef soup or Panda Express noodle. It just tasted weirdly. The only good one was the spicy dumpling, although the portion was small and you could count the number of dumplings with one hand. But the fact that the dumpling was actually spicy made this dish a success. The drinks were okay!

Finally a Chinese place that means it when it says it is spicy.Peking Tavern is where I go every weekend for top notch dim sum. I love the shrimp with pea spouts and Shanghai dumpling. The country French shrimp will make you break out in a sweat. All the dishes have excellent flavor and if not hot enough there is a house made chili sauce to add a little more heat.

Just ordered 2 small chinese chicken salads and 2 large chicken and corn soups to go. Order was 40. A little expensive although the salads were large and 1 would have been enough. Salad dressing was too strong. Soup was good, as I remembered it. Service was good. Other than high prices, I would recommend this place.

This place is awesome. I've never had better dumplings. The bartender was very friendly and helpful to me as well. Giving my friends and I knowledge of, as well as samples of baijiu made for a great experience that I won't forget.
