I have an old Smith-Corona from the 50's that needed help. The carriage wasn't working and the keys were sticking, among other things. It was dirty and gummed up. Ruben did an AMAZING job restoring the thing! I couldn't be happier with the results. It's been cleaned thoroughly and is now in pristine condition. So smooth. The carriage is operating perfectly...along with everything else. I never write reviews but this guy is a TREASURE. He knows everything there is to know and I'm sure that there aren't many guys like him left. He gave me a VERY fair quote and sent photos and video of the issues and his progress as he worked on the machine. He completed the work quickly and couldn't be a nicer guy. I HIGHLY recommend his services. And anyone that has an appreciation for beautiful old TYPEWRITERS knows what a gift it is to have someone like Ruben nearby.

I have a Royal Quiet Deluxe from the late 1940's that I bought 15-20 years ago. I stopped using it and stored it in my garage because I didn't have a writing space for myself. Now I have a space and I took it out, but after ten years of not being used it needed some servicing. I found Ruben online and took it to him for an evaluation and the machine was in worse condition than I thought. He was very knowledgeable and told me what it needed to be usable again. He left it up to me to decide how far I wanted to go with it, no pressure. I decided to go with a full refurbishment. It is becoming very rare to find one of these machines in the condition that mine was in. It was very well taken care of before I bought it and I felt it was worth saving. Ruben is an exceptional craftsman. My antique typewriter works better than it has ever worked since its been in my possession. If you have an old typewriter you want to refurbish, I highly recommend Ruben. Thank you Ruben. I have already started writing my next story on my little gem from the 1940's.
I had a damaged 1949? Royal KMG typewriter, the carriage was stuck from being shipped improperly. And I took the damaged typewriter to Ruben and he did an amazing job, fixed my typewriter, replaced damaged parts, gave it a deep cleaning. It looks brand new, works good as new. I'm very happy to have my typewriter back after a year of it being broken. Ruben is the best typewriter mechanic in the city, a rare profession. And he doesn't over charge, his prices are fair for the superb work he does. Highly recommend.
Ruben is so helpful! I couldn’t come in to get my Brother Charger 11 fixed, so I called and asked for help. Ruben kindly sent me a video explaining everything I needed to do. Will be calling in the future if anything comes up. Thanks Ruben for your help! Now I can write my poems :)
Ruben was a delight to work with. His knowledge and craft and attentiveness was greatly appreciated as he restored a Hermes 3000 that I inherited and had great sentimental value. It looks and feels amazing after he cleaned it and fixed it up. I strongly recommend his services.
