I am class of 2006. They saved my life and if you work your program and focus on your wanting to do better for yourself Vista will give you all the tools you need, to succeed in life. When I got to Vista Del Mar in 2002 I was a very troubled teenager with trust issues, and other issues as well..With the help of Vista staff and the right medication I got my life back. Thank You Vista. Now I'm a homeowner, with a great paying job with a college degree because of Vista!

My son lived at Vista Del Mar for 2 years. First the special care unit and then Handler unit. This was a very positive place for him. He has been at a few facilities and in his own words, his stay at Vista Del Mar was the most positive. The teachers, counselors, and all staff were good to my son. They counseled him & tried to stear him in a positive direction. When you go to Vista Del Mar it feels like a home environment rather than just a clinical setting. I highly recommend Vista Del Mar. My son Michael and I truly miss the staff at Vista.

Be careful taking your children to this facility! Zero communication from staff, “DOCTORS” who don’t involve parents in the care plan and mismanage MEDICATION, and case management that really doesn’t know how to manage cases for follow-on care!!!! How do you “misplace” a child’s medication list, causing them to be without medications for \u003e48 hours, because of your own procedures that you supposedly stand by. You state on your website that making a discharge plan from the moment you arrive is so important; however, when asked what the plan is, and you receive an “I don’t know,” I guess you have a facility that thinks things happen magically! Lastly, when you hear about this big person that loves labeling themselves, “The CEO,” yet cannot return your call to talk through the issues at hand, sounds to me like this so called “CEO,” has an ego on her. I’ve asked 3 directors now to speak with “the all mighty,” over a week ago; however, I guess she doesn’t know how to return a phone call, or simply relay a message! It’s really sad knowing my child’s circumstances, yet this facility just wants to get these kids in and out of their facility!

The staff were really cool despite the issues many can face here.

Not for students with physical disabilities or with DS...staff is unqualified or have no experience.
