My supermarket of choice in Loughton. Brand new store, wide aisles and clean shelves. Fresh meat fridges are enclosed and aren't too cramped. Bakery is quite impressive too. And best part are the self service checkouts which I've never had to wait more than 2 minutes to get to.

Yes, it is good to have a supermarket at walking distance, it is quite good, loved their fresh bakery items. Many items are cheaper than the other supermarkets, like their " Middle shelf " lots of bargains.

Very good on every level, but car park very small. Always a struggle to find space.

I would have given at least 4 stars, were it not for the incident today. As we got to the checkout, we could see there was a heavy hailstorm going on outside. Within seconds, the rain was pouring into the store from above the front windows. Staff ran around getting buckets, but then it started going along the entire length of the front windows. A ceiling tile fell, narrowly missing a staff member's head. Staff then started running about getting more buckets, mops, tissue and a huge vacuum cleaner type thing, and redirecting people to the entry door, to exit, as the exit door was now also compromised with incoming water. A customer asked a staff member (who looked like management), if they were going to stop more people coming in, and was told "oh no, the rest of the store is fine!" By this time, another 2 tiles had fallen (one very close to me!), and electricity cables were exposed. As we left, i think they had stopped entry, as people were waiting outside. In my opinion, this was badly handled by the higher ranked staff. The store should have been closed immediately after the leak started spreading, for the safety of staff and customers. Shame, as it is one of the nicest Lidl stores i've shopped in, but i won't feel safe there now.

Spotless clean and wide aisles make the shop light and airy.

Wasnt a fan of Lidl before going into this store. Great bakery as you enter...... well worth just going for that alone. Clean and spacious store. Parking can be an issue but not often

Great store, very clean, but the new manager in there is possibly the most rude person I’ve ever met. it’s the small Asian guy, haven’t seen him until recently. I can’t believe Lidls let people like this run their shops.
