I chose to shop at this store specifically to support a local Hutt business. Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed. I found the photo service pretty expensive, but worse, when I came to pay for one of the services, the female owner charged me more than she had quoted me a week prior. (Not a lot, but I wouldn't have asked for a quote if it wasn't important to me.) When I queried the price when paying, she simply said "Oh, i must have got that wrong" without making any offer to rectify. On another occasion, I also found her very keen to try to upsell me stuff that didn't meet my needs. While I'm having a moan, I was pretty unimpressed at the general grubbiness of some displays inside the shop. I'd also like to see this shop take some pride in their High St location and keep the outside shop front clean. I feel they could do a lot better.

I had an archive of material I needed scanning, restoring, and digitising for a website project. There were photos and negs, some dating back to the 1940s, and in a variety of conditions, posters, promotional material, and more, in black and white and colour and every size under the sun. Jenny did an excellent job digitally copying, and restoring these items. The digital images all retain their feel of age, but any damage and imperfections like fading have been removed. Perfect for my purposes. Highly recommended personal level of service.

I would not rush to recommend this business to anyone. The female owner preys on older people convincing them to buy expensive cameras and pretends to know the cause of issues with cameras bought in often diagnosing the problem as irreparable hence encouraging the purchase of a new camera. Having gone in with a camera under warranty to be told it had been dropped ( it hadn't) so wouldn't be covered under warranty and could not be repaired is not ok. After insisting said camera was sent away and repaired at no cost. I would rate this business 1 out of 10. I'm being generous.
