This was once an upmarket, pleasant and enjoyable place to shop. Not any more. Resembles a bargain basement store. Restaurant area deserted and very cold. Not welcoming as one would expect. Rest room facilities shabby and not very clean. Plaster coming off walls and dreadful black damp on ceiling. Such a shame. Saving grace - helpful and pleasant staff.
These stores have excellent quality items at good prices. Lots of things available clothes, homeware, toys, furniture, electrical goods. I picked up some bits for my man cave and some toys for my 3 year old son. Visited two of their stores, staff were very friendly and helpful at both stores.
Good all round shop for home items and clothing with a good cafe.
We go to Beales for the little coffee shop on the first floor. The staff are lovely and it's always a lovely cuppa. The shop is not bad and the toy shop on the ground floor is the only one in town.
70% OFF posters in all outside windows, 50% OFF posters in suitcase department, my wife chose a case she liked, went to the till to pay, then told “on that one there is only 10% OFF”. (This was on a cheap case obviously over-priced in the first place). We simply but politely walked out of shop. Disingenuous and wasting everybody’s time. Simply Shameful advertising, even the member of staff was embarrassed. I won’t enter the shop again even when they move into the old Palmer’s department store. SHAMEFULL!! Simply drove to TK MAX and purchased another case, at their truly discounted prices. All this did was simply confirmed the CON OF BEALES closing down sale!!! The most Bizarre thing was yet to come, this being that when I arrived home I found the initial case we tried to buy in Beales less than 50% of their price even with the extra 10% off, on the Amazon Web site. UTTER CON MERCHANTS
The staff in the Clothing Department are wonderful 5***** I will buy again, next time I visit Lowestoft. They where very kind and helpful. A great asset to the Shop.
Good for clothing bargains in both mens & ladies depts.. Also good for bedding and kitchenware.
