Went here years and years back with my family. Truly a special place with many fond memories. Incredible food and service.

One appetizer big enough for two people, two glasses of wine, two meals and one kilo of cheese the sold me set me back 75 euros. However they will automatically bring a bottle of wine (which you have to pay) and open it along with bread unless you tell them not to! Now onto the review. If you ever have the opportunity to visit the city of Lucca \The City Of Walls\ near Pisa than you must visit this place. Great atmosphere and peaceful. It was a great change from the tourists-catered menu you get from big cities like Rome and Florence. If you don't speak Italian then you can ask for an English menu. We ordered an appetizer for two people that consisted of cheese, three different types of meat with toasted bread. Each bread came with a different type of spread. Water of course is sold separately like any other restaurant in Italy. I ordered the \Tordelli Lucchesi 1895\ an old recipe that consists of ravioli type pasta with meat inside. The outside is covered in a red sauce with seasoned ground beef. Very flavorful. The other dish was a roasted duck which was very tender and very delicious. This restaurant was so authentic, I can no longer eat in one of the many restaurants you see in Rome on every alley and street with patios outside. I highly recommended it. It's open on Sundays and this is a miracle. As you probably know already, few restaurants are opened In Italy on Sundays. From the entrance, you'll get a feeling of 3 in 1, local store, bar, and restaurant. For us, everything was great and enough. We've tried a delicious Toscan plateau, Tordelli Luchesi 1895, more pasta, house wine and unfortunately, there was no place for something sweet, we're in luck :-D. Delicious! Go and check, you'll not regret it. There are lots of attractive touristic points to visit around this place.

Poor choice and a very unimaginative and basic salad served that bore little resemblance to the menu description. The venue is cozy and has a nice feel, the prices for food were good and although I didn't have wine others in our party thought it a good wine but a little pricey. Two of the servers basically ignored us for some time but the third was friendly and helpful. It is good for couples or groups wanting standard Italian food.

Food is pretty good, and it it feels very local at this place (menu in Italian only). However, we found pieces of a metal sponge twice in our dishes! Plus, were not allowed to order the combo menu, as it was for “working” Italians only - pretty discriminative and arrogant explanation.
