I admit that my viewpoint could be skewed by an intermediary who organized the yoga trip. Il Borghino would have gotten 3 stars from me if it weren't for the extraordinary vegan food that the staff prepared for me ... proving that great vegan food isn't in tricks and coconut oil, but in deep care for flavor and ingredients. Staff was generally very helpful, but given that the price for our double room was effectively about the same as for an upscale hotel, I wouldn't expect less. The facility is very nice and well cared-for, though the mid-week cleaning was only so-so: for some reason the cleaners decided to leave some dirty towels on the floor and not replace them. My biggest complaint has to do with the room. Through the trip organizer I paid for a double room with private bath, based on what I take to be information provided by Il Borghino. What we got when we arrived was a double room, but with a \private\ bathroom down the hall. To get to said bath, one had to pass through a public area, meaning that the only virtue was that theoretically we didn't share a toilet with others. That bath also had the laundry facilities in the anteroom outside it, leading on two occasions to leaving the bathroom only to encounter people doing laundry right outside. My counsel would be to make damned sure you know exactly which room you are getting. If you get one of the other rooms, you'll probably give this place five stars, because the food is superb, and their coordination of activities is likewise excellent.

Yoga in Italy is a combination of a healthy retreat (yoga, delicious local food, optional hiking) a true vacation in one of the most beautiful areas in Italy (near the gorgeous town of Lucca). The rooms are very nice and the grounds & pool are fantastic. I can’t say enough about the team: it felt like we were visiting longtime friends who showed us the best of the area. I’ve been to Italy many times, and this was one of my favorite trips.
The entire resort is beautiful. Very peaceful. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Food is amazing and staff is extremely helpful. A place you don't want to leave.
