We were not staying at Overton Grange but had an evening meal there. The food was amazing. Beautifully presented and innovative. The perfect setting for our anniversary. A little more than we expected to pay which included the advised 10% gratuity, however the experience justified the cost.
Josie Rudge: We had our daughter's wedding there last October, we took over the place for the weekend nobody else was there. The food was excellent and the accommodation was lovely. It has lovely grounds for the wedding photos. The room is a blank canvas so you can do what you want with it from the Friday afternoon, when the wedding is on the Saturday, The wedding venue is very reasonably priced, and we looked at a lot of venues in that area. Highly recommended.
Truly dreadful place. We arrived, just my partner and I, for my birthday celebrations. Upon arriving there was no food, the restaurant was shut, the sauna was broken, the pool was absolutely freezing and the room was tiny. After a few hours it was so bad we wondered just what we were actually paying for, so checked out. The worst thing is that their customer service is disgusting. When we complained in order to get a refund, part of their response was this: "Overton Grange is a 3* rated Country House Hotel with Pool facilities for our guest, but the hotel is not classified as a Spa Hotel." - yet if you look on the likes of TripAdvisor, that's LITERALLY what they advertise themselves as. Avoid this place like the plague and book yourselves into either Fishmore Hall or The Clive, both of which are only a few miles from this "hotel". DO NOT STAY HERE!
We booked here with friends for our pre Christmas getaway. Had a very pleasant stay, the room was good with a view; see photo. The restaurant was very good and we had an excellent meal on the first night, we did not eat in the hotel subsequent nights. Overall a very good weekend, would I stay here again? Certainly. My only niggles are that there wasn't a shower in our room and the bath was a bit slippy, also the bar/restaurant was all locked up on the Sunday, not a problem for eating as we had been pre-warned but a drink would have been nice.
Just returned from a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel. The staff - a especially the lovely curly haired manageress we're very helpful and friendly. The food however was unbelievably good - Tom the lovely young chef created food that wouldn't be out of place on Masterchef! We've eaten at some top notch restaurants such as Turners and Parnells in Birmingham but Toms food was far superior -can't recommend this place any higher - wish I knew how to get him on The Great British Menu - he'd walk it Angie & Mat
Was a good hotel in its time. Turning into a school now tho (overton school i think?)
Austere Atmosphere plus great food, a truly relaxing luncheon.
