Recently rescued from the querulous axe of a developer this C16th village inn has lost none of its country charm. In fact it has improved in all areas. There is a refreshed grassed garden. Hearty pub classics on the menu which are beautifully cooked with a wine list to compliment most tastes this pub comes with a special asset - it is run for the community by the community. Extensive renovations have opened up the bar area but the restaurant space has kept all of its centuries old charm. Go if you can.

I'm not a local but visit The Boot Inn on occasions when I visit my parents. I'm really fussy when it comes to food and am generally disappointed with pub grub, however Chris and Holly have absolutely nailed it! Chris is charming and a great front of house host. Holly's food is incredible! I started with the tomato mozzarella salad... light, fresh and delicious. The fish and chips were by far the best I've ever eaten, beautifully crisped batter, not greasy at all with a healthy chunk of cod inside. Peas were smashed not pureed so just as I like them, homemade tartar sauce and big chunky chips! 10/10. As for the treacle tart... OMG Holly knows her stuff... im not a dessert kinda guy but could not resist... absolutely spot on! Well done and thank you. I want to also give a shout out for the amazing service they offered to their locals during lockdown... a life saver for the likes of my 80 year old mum. Go to this pub... you will not regret it!
Great place. Bought by the village when landlord closed it & tried to sell for housing. Only local pub in Orleton. Chris & team fantastic.
So, we have visited pre-lockdown 2 and had a sit down meal for four. During lockdown 2 we have had two take away meals and all have been exceptionally good. Highly recommend you take advantage.
A truly beautiful pub, one of my favourites
