Roaming hungry in Ludlow, we found this bold place on the street with a signature of its own. It was definitely appealing to pub-lover hidden personality within me. Decided to check-out and I was met with awesomeness. First things first - the portion sizes are huge! The food itself is beautifully crafted gastronomic combination of classic flavours from a Sunday roast and then fused with fatty sweet and sourness of sauces. We decided to get a pâté, lamb shank and Sunday roast. Pâté came with sweet onion chutney which packed flavours into the pâté texture and made the starter an absolute delight. The lamb shank’s sauce was magical, it was sweet and fatty and the lamb was so well cooked that it was literally falling off the bone . The Sunday roast was alright, not magical but still delicious.

Called in for a late lunch with Mr P after exploring Ludlow. The female member of staff was very friendly. The menu was varied and the prices what you would expect for the area. I had fish pie and it was very, very good. Lots of filling, nice sauce and great mash topping. Mr P had fish and chips. We both enjoyed our food. Definitely somewhere we would return, maybe on a Saturday night when they have live music. Beautiful old building too.
As always- gorgeous food, and big portions. Staff, also as always, friendly and helpful. Good social distancing measures in place- tables spread out well, one way system, table service and hand sanitiser/check in on entry. Recommended!!
Thought enjoyed our meal out. Highlight had to be local sausages with local blue cheese mash and a huge array of vegetables.
The pub is located in the heart of lovely Ludlow I had fish and chips (Cod) and recommend. Mrs P had fish pie with both meals attached on photos Traditional public house with friendly bar staff - not too busy either at 16:00 on a Saturday afternoon in August Well priced food and drinks and I strongly recommend if passing and you’re hungry
