I had the Galician octopus and potato appetizer, plus the sole with prawn and wine sauce. They also provided a sausage empanada sampler. The Galician octopus was the highlight of the meal. I have no idea how they got the meat to be so soft; the texture was amazing. The sauce was rich and soaked into the potatoes, and there were bursts of saltiness from the sea salt. Overall an amazing experience. (If you are dining alone, they will provide a smaller plate for the appetizer for 65% of the price; otherwise the appetizer is sized and priced for two people as is typical in Lugo.) The entree was delicious. They were nice enough to pick all the bones out of the sole, which was a unique table service. The sole was carrying eggs which had a different but pleasant texture. Again I enjoyed the sauce which was well-balanced. The sausage empanada also had a nice flavor, crispy crust and a mild spice and acidity from the tomato. I have an overall gripe which was the general cleanliness. (1) They decided to plate the octopus on a round wooden cutting board for some reason. These cannot be washed by machine, as evidenced by the piece of plastic from a sponge which was attached to the side of the plate. Gross factor. (2) The sole’s belly wasn’t cleaned out properly, leaving a bitter aftertaste. Also the prawns were not deveined. Seriously, if you’re going to charge 29 euros for a meal, clean the poop out, please. (3) A waiter dropped an entire tray of utensils on the floor during the meal. I felt 50 euros was overpriced for the quality received. Especially since they abandoned me for 15 minutes post meal, and I had to walk downstairs to pay. On the plus side, a glass of wine is only 3.50 which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, a delicious meal with some issues and also overpriced.

We had the set menu this lunchtime, with two choices per course. Delicious well-cooked food and excellent, attentive service. We had a good bottle of wine, which was decanted for us and my husband approved of the training being given to a, presumably new, waitress. Nice ambience and obviously popular restaurant. Not cheap, so this will go down as one of our \special\ meals this holiday. Would definitely come here again.

Beware!! There are different menus and they'll charge your differently depending on where you sit. This difference is not well advertised, so we only learned it after having been seated and ordered drinks. Very pricey! You can get same or better quality for a lower cost just down the street. Besides, the atmosphere feels cold and unwelcoming -- again to be compared to other restaurants along the same street.
