This was our first time hiking this trail, and we'll definitely be coming back. Despite some rocky areas and a few moderately steep switchbacks, our 6-year-old hiked the whole thing without a problem, and the 3-year-old did about half. The view at the end is spectacular, and the observation platform has rock walls to contain kids. We started the hike around 9 am on a Sunday and didn't see another soul until we got back to Bushytop on the return trip. As other reviews have mentioned, it's easy to miss the trailhead - it's in a grassy area next to the amphitheater, directly across the road from the \Franklin\ cabins.

Cloudless day. No wind. Awesome view.
Night hike to see the space station. Totally worthwhile!
Short trail easy to hike and you can hang glide with a permit
Great place. Be sure to follow the little path just to the left of the observation tower. It goes past the base of the tower to a rock outcropping that has a better view than the tower .
