- Usually a wonderful and very welcoming park in the heart of downtown Luray. - Unfortunately, me and my 12 pound puppy had a very upsetting experience today, but it reflects on a person, not the park. -,My little dog is small and I have trained him to be loving and friendly to others. He loves everyone, and has always been met with love in return. In fact, he’s gotten a little conceited! - Today however, there was a woman at the park who for no reason was so frighteningly rude and insulting to us that her mental stability must be questioned, because she became violent towards my pup, and kicked him in the leg. I’m still reeling. - Not the usual nice day there, though through no fault of the park or the county. - So just use caution if you witness a well dressed, stocky, blond/gray haired woman in her 50’s, who today had a puppy of her own with her, who carries and displays herself as an angry, defensive, superior NFL linebacker wearing a furious face. She is not there to enjoy the view on a beautiful autumn day, but rather to assail her perceived enemies - innocent persons and pets she has never before met, who are. - We’ll be back as our usual friendly selves, enjoying the view and our gift of life as apparently she will not, but will proceed with caution of this dangerous and obviously damaged and deranged woman, and suggest readers do as well. Please. - Thank you and have a wonderful day at this wonderful park, and check out the “Kindness Garden” while you’re there! That’s what we need more of!

i stay at a place from airbnb near by to do some site seeing and hiking on the skyline drive and in VA. i stumble across the luray haswbill greenway where people road bikes, did some jogging, walk their dog or just a nice stroll. they have a few picnic tables and benches where you can have lunch or read a book to enjoy the outside. my favorite spot was at the mechanic parking lot as you can see i love feeding the ducks. at one time i had well over 100 ducks around me. boy, do love cheerios and cornflakes. plus i love when small towns have places like this. it allows you to get out and say hello and meet your neighbors.
Could be a nice visit if you have the time to spare on your journey traveling on Skyline Drive. You have an opportunity to learn some of the culture of the area from times past including history of Indians who lived in that area in the early days. This is easy to access from Skyline Drive. On the edge of the City of Luray.
Do this before Skyline Drive. It's cute and easy along the stream, but avoid the \green\ section/phase of the path which is just a long, hot trip around a pasture with no stream and nothing to see.
Nice scenery very serene
