This car park is less busy than the George. I recommend starting the walk from here. It takes about 1.5 hour walking from there to the George and less than half hour to come back from the other route. Food in the tea room is good and the price is reasonable. A bowl of soup with bread is about 4. Toilets here are very clean.

This cafe was the first place we went into on our visit to the beautiful Lydford Gorge.White Lady waterfall and the Devils Cauldron in this very scenic part of Devon,We had a lovely cup of tea and a bite to eat to set us up for the amazing walk along the Gorge to take in all or its wonderful surroundings and wild life. The cafe itself is very quaint and the staff were all very lovely.
Nice place. The woman serving today was very nice too. Sandwich was freshly made and the mocha was very nice. As always with National Trust places it is a bit expensive but as it was so nice this time I guess it was worth it.
Lovely friendly people - a cup of coffee well earned with the climb back up to the top and a scone with butter and jam excellent finish to an afternoon outing
Overpriced tea room and a limited range of boring products. Prices still inflated despite being made to eat in the car park by the road.
If you love nature that's the place to visit. Very beautiful with nice walk. Kids love it but be careful with narrow path time to time. It's a real national treasure. From water to see, rocks, trees and surrounding. You are in a different world. Takes at least one hour to walk from main entrance to the tea room. But you won't feel it you are so busy with the view and the beauty of the place. Good day out for family. Avoid buggy for the long walk. For the short one no problem.
Lovely tea room. We just had tea and coffee which was great. The food looked lovely. Nice to stop on the route round the gorge
Lydford gorge has to be the most interesting national trust walk I've ever done. Beware though this isn't an easy walk, high drops and slippery paths await you. Had a nice coffee and scone at the tea room. Was splendid
