Some of the best fish and chips I've had. You won't be disappointed with the portion size of fish or chips. Well cooked, not too greasy. Fish was lovely and fresh and cooked to order (I did have the extra-large cod which was cooked to order). Was remarkably busy despite being a fairly quiet day in Lyme Regis which is an indication of the reputation of this place. COVID-19 - Customers ordered and paid inside the shop and queued outside. Very good social distancing rules adhered too. Staff all wore masks and were polite and exercised good practices. Not that the shops/stalls on the main front are bad, just that the quality of the fish and chips form Lyme's Fish Bar happens to be the best in town. Only a couple of minutes' walk from the beach and worth the walk. You won't be disappointed.

The best chip shop in the South West. Always visit whenever returning home from the region. The chips are freshly prepared and cooked on-site. Portion sizes are perfect. In normal times there is a sit-in restaurant. Visited on 8 & 31 Oct 2020

Well organised: you go into the shop, place your order, are given a number and wait outside to be called. It didn't take long - just over 5 minutes as there were several people ahead of us in the queue then, as it was starting to rain, we struggled back up the hill to the car park to eat our meal. Well worth the wait: both the cod and haddock were excellent, and the chips were good too. Not greasy, just delicious - as fish and chips at the seaside should be! We also had a very interested gull who sat on the bonnet of the adjoining car! He was also very disappointed, because we didn't feed him.

Over the past few years I’ve grown a bit disillusioned with fish shop fish and chips. Pubs have generally been doing a better job, especially on the chips. But Lyme’s fish bar has restored my faith. Perfectly cooked fish, lovely crisp batter - not too thick, and chips crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Strolled down to the beach to eat it looking out to sea. Perfect.

Very possibly the best Fish and chips I’ve ever eaten anywhere. We had to queue outside on a Friday evening, but they kept the line moving and they were impressively able to cope with the huge number of orders. Staff really friendly and helpful. Fish cooked to perfection, I also had scampi which were tasty. They were properly wrapped in paper, no styrofoam boxes, we took dinner to a bench on the seawall. I will definitely be back and tell others to come and try the best fish and chips here too!
