This morning we visited the park for some sledging and snowball fun, some of the best views can be seen from south park of MACCLESFIELD and the surrounding hills including the forest and the odd Church tower/steeple, there's 2 separate playground areas 1 of which is only a year or two old, the council has much improved the tennis courts in fact it has been completely overhauled, there's also 2 5 a side football pitches, outdoor table tennis table, there is a separate areas for the toddlers with plenty of seating (just outside the fence is a bowling club green but it is not part of the park) the other play area has a new zip line, small roundabout plus swings toddlers and teens, a slide plus a rope pyramid 15-20 feet approximately, and another item but I don't know how to describe it, there's also a bandstand erected in the 1930s and still in use although under current restrictions it is not sadly as it normally attracts a good size crowd, there's is a miserable looking pavilion from the 1960s which I have never seen open which is not a bad thing, I believe it's days are numbered thankfully I just hope that it will be replaced with a more traditional building rather than something that will be out of date ina decade especially as it could turn the fortunes of the park around and unlike an Andersson shelter (2nd WW bomb shelter)there's also a small carpark just off Park lane which is in the park itself, the council has also spent a lot of money on the air circulation of the pond where there are a number of wild birds swans, wading birds, ducks, seagulls, pigeons and if the water is clear you may be able to see the very large carp, the council has also spent even more money on planting new trees, ( I am not sure of how many but a lot) and lastly there is a skate park which is popular with a deep bowl and a variety of skill levels can use scooters and boards. I hope you enjoy your visit as much as we enjoy the park.

Great outdoor space for picnics and meeting friends. Two parks for the children young and Older. Tennis courts are great and often in use. There is a lovely van that comes daily, serving hot and cold drinks, snacks and food. Great place for families although there are no toilets here.
