I've been living in Madrid for 10 years and I enjoy discovering new places. I recently read about La Gallega in a local newspaper as one of the best bars in Madrid for Pulpo (Octopus). We decided to give it a go. What a disappointment! We went on a Friday afternoon at 8:30 pm. The place was empty. The bar looks really grubby and the waiters were unpleasant. The music was too loud and irritating. When I checked the aciones\ (portion) list on the bar wall, I noticed there were not priced. We ordered two Ribeiros (white wine from Galicia) and octopus portion. The Ribeiros were good, the octopus was insipid and chewy. We got a bill of 20.50 Euros, an absolute rip off for the type of bar and quality of food in Madrid. I will never go back and I would warn anyone against this place.
