This place is definitely cheating customers!!!! I love rosquillas de yema so when I saw the nice- looking ones in their window (like in the first picture) I decided to buy some. However the shop assistant gave me a pre-packed box, it looks a little smaller but since it was dark in the shop, I only asked the assistant if these are the same as the ones outside, and of course she confirmed they are the same. When I opened the box at home I realize that she gave me a box of super-dried and small ones and looks like they have been there for several days already!!! What a good way of selling expired products!!! DO NOT GO THERE!!

Lovely selection of sweet pastries

Bakery with a wide selection of traditional Spanish baked goods. It’s on the pricy side, but totally worth it. It gets especially busy during Christmas, since their roscón de Reyes (Three Kings Day cake) is really famous.

We went there today in the morning and we bought a piece of cake and a piece of pizza and we spent 18 euros for both!! This is theft, pure and simple! The owner raised for sure incredibly the prices, as she realized that we were tourists. I do not suggest this place!

What to bring home from Madrid? The savoury pastries here are a favourite and both travel and keep well. It is in an area popular with tourists; the queues and the wait can be long; and the sweet pastries are far more hit-and-miss than are their savoury brethren. Still, great street food if you are walking the area, and great to pack.
