We stayed at this hotel while we were in Madrid. It is beautifully located, half a block from the Gran Via, and then walking distance to all of the city center attractions. It was just as nice as the tourist agency said it would be. I've posted some views from our room window. There is also an old-fashioned wrought iron elevator that is fun to ride and difficult to photograph!

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Room was comfortable and modern,in an old building (so it has charm) All the staff were more than friendly, but especially in the breakfast room!

The location of the hotel was great. It is very close to Gran Via shopping and metro station (Chueca metro is about a 5 minute walk). There are many shops and restaurants located on this street as well. The first room we checked into had balcony doors that did not lock. For safety reasons, we contacted front desk about this and the issue was resolved very quickly with a room switch. Room-wise, it was spacious and plenty of electrical outlets. However, there was only 1 towel in the bathroom even though the room had two beds and booked for two. The hotel has a cool elevator..the ones you see in movies. Breakfast is located in the building next door (the Celioso bakery in fact) but connected on the main floor by elevators. Entry into the hotel can be annoying. I did not see a card scanner to open the doors. Therefore, the front desk has to buzz you in everytime.

Brilliant location, attentive staff and simple but clean rooms. If I come back to Madrid, I wouldn't think twice about booking petit palace again.

ROOMS NEED BETTER SOUNDPROOFING. Overall I don't believe I stay here again. Two stars because of central location and also because room was a little bigger than expected and bed wasn't too bad. Shower has drainage problems and overflowed twice during my stay. Breakfast was a joke. Understand they are trying to modernize and be hip, but heck even a straight-forward continental breakfast is better than what I had. The rooms need much better soundproofing, especially given its central location. My first night was horrible. When I inquired to get a new room, I was given the old "hotel is fully-booked" answer. Furthermore, there was no updates about the hotel going through a renovation phase. Came down to the lobby and was nearly hit by falling plaster. Not cool. Moreover - where was the iPad that was supposed to be in every room? According to the website, each room is supposed to have an iPad. No iPad in my room. And while I knew I wouldn't have a kettle in my room, I suggest adding one to each room. My room was large enough to accomdate a kettle and tea/coffee, especially since the hotel's "coffee bar" or whatever it was too be wasn't operational. Customer service was okay, not great, but okay.

very well located if you like to visit the centre (Gran Via en Chueca). Clean airy rooms some have balconies and the top rooms have a small terrace overlooking the city, pretty quiet for the city centre. Very helpful and friendly staff. Good price quality value.
