Well decorated, good breakfast shame about the beds. Location is excellent being within walking distance of the Prado and main tourist locations like the palace. The hotel itself is well decorated. It has a relatively small bar area and a larger area for breakfast. We had a family room which had bunk beds. Our double bed was creaky / 2 singles 'joined' together. Massive gap in the middle which is disappointing. So the hotel itself is brilliant but you may not get a good nights sleep as the beds themselves are of a poor standard.

Basic room, but fantastic location & good service. We had a lovely stay at this hotel. Check in was friendly and easy, the elevator/lift was quick, and our room was clean. We only stayed one night but we would gladly come back. The hotel is in a great location and has bicycles available for rent (with a deposit on your credit card of course). Across the street from a beautiful park and walking distance ot the Prado Museum (among others), even if you don't rent a bike - you'll be happy with what's available within a quick walk. Our room was small but quiet and looked out into the courtyard. The bathroom was nice and clean and the bath room amenities were plentiful. We appreciated the modernized bathroom too! We ordered room service for dinner and the meal was not special, but it was decent and well-priced. The lobby and restaurant/bar were styled very cute and charming and I fell in love with the staircase. Getting a taxi was very easy as well! Thanks to looking at other reviews, we chose to pay a little bit extra and found this hotel.
Solid location in a beautiful and safe area. 2 blocks off Puerta Alcala but far enough away to be much quieter. Staff are kind, helpful and generally bilingual in English, which was helpful. Hotel has a contemporary vibe with "cool" colors and decor. We had the 2 room suite for over a week with the park view and the private wrap around balcony. The view is AMAZING (see photos). Minibar in the room with good selection. Room service food was generally good and sometimes great with clear chef inspiration. Just a heads up, while each room has its own A/C control, the hotel chooses whether it is set to 'heat" or "cool" for the entire hotel and based on their judgement. The weather fluctuated a lot during our stay and it would have been nice to have true control over heating and cooling in our room. This is probably just an American thing (or more specifically a Floridian thing). Regardless, we were NEVER uncomfortable in our room. Highly recommend.
I am in love with the Petit Palace hotels! They are all gorgeous, perfectly located, and absolutely wonderful all around. The staff is so helpful and kind, and you cannot beat these locations! The Alphonso XII is no exception- loved every second!
We had an awesome stay at this hotel. The location is excellent. Our room was very nice and clean. The breakfast was amazing. I would stay here again and again!

Quiet and comfortable. Breakfast is really good.
Great hotel with excellent service, always helpful and friendly. Nice rooms with enough space, the suite is perfect for families with 1-2 kids as you have two rooms and the kids have a bunk bed. Towels, little bottles of shampoo, shower gel, package of shaving kit, tooth brush, etc. everything is there. Beakfast is great as well.
