An absolute hidden gem located in the midst of a very crowded & congested market.... One just can't imagine what there is inside this place by just looking the outer atmosphere.... The guide is also very friendly... Please carry Aadhar Card or any id proof to get permission to enter . One can spend 10-15 minutes inside the prayer hall. Still photography is allowed, videography is not. Preferable timings for visiting this place:- 2pm-3pm Avoid Fridays and Saturdays.

Titu Bardhan

The largest synagogue of Asia, this is one of the best places to experience the Jewish architecture at its best. Built twice and with 3 synagogues nearby it acts as a heritage for both Jews as well as calcuttans of all castes and creed. The magnificent stained glass windows are breathtakingly beautiful and are a sight to behold from inside on a good sunny day. The guides are very cooperative and have a nice treasure trove of information about the synagogue. Do visit the place whenever around this area, it's a crowded place but the experience is worth it

As it is a jewish worship place, boys are given a small hat(as worn by Jews) to be worn. The caretaker allows 10min for viewing the inside. There is also a place for donation.
