Proper phone line! A luxury these days. Spoke to two different people, both really knowledgable and really helpful. Also uncomplicated paperwork arrived quickly. Service so far a refreshing change when compared with other similar companies.

Value wise - very competitive. Been guilty of autorenewing for a long time with previous company, so having done a price comparison this year, the price from Magnet, with additional extras is still far cheaper than my renewal quote. Admittedly, I've not had to claim yet, and you know what they say - you can only really rate the insurance company you take on by the quality of their claims service, but first impressions are favourable.

OK, this is only in relation to the sign-up process for home insurance, and ultimately the big test for any insurer is how well they handle any claim, but so far I have been very impressed with Magnet. Got a quote online and phoned them for some clarification. Wasn't confronted with loads of pre-recorded messages and didn't have to pop various numbers in to get to the right team, but was greeted by a very friendly and helpful voice pretty promptly. It was a breath of fresh air compared to most insurance companies I'd dealt with before. Anyway, all my questions were answered, a couple of amends made, the revised quote was sent through almost immediately, and I went online again to pay. Touch wood, I never have to claim, but if I do I really do hope that the process is just as friendly, efficient and professional!

I took out home insurance with Magnet. When I submitted a claim it became apparent that the cover was with Accredited Insurance, who use Eaton Gate to process claims. Each passed on responsibility to the next down the chain - all designed to confuse the customer and avoid paying out ! My legitimate claim was rejected with the usual excuses - wrong kind of rain, wear and tear, policy exceptions etc. When will the Regulator clear out these rogues and instill some integrity into the insurance industry so that customers can relu upon it to treat them fairly ? Please learn from my experience and avoid Magnet.

Very good initial experience, providing exactly the home insurance I require at a very competitive price. I cannot give five stars because I don't know how good their claims service is. So far, so good.
