Bring back memories of the movies and books. Such a lovely place to go. We went with a tour but the tour self rush through everything. They have a small shop selling everything Heidi and a small museum. Heidi house is well-kept and love the path ways going to the house.

I hate to say that it's a tourist trap - less trap than just a commercialized way of exploiting Heidi. You really should just enjoy the scenery there, and make your way to the Heidi Fountain which has even more beautiful meadows and solitary trees punctuating the landscape.
If you are a fan of the book or the cartoon you will definitely love this place! From Zürich it will take you about one hour (by train) to reach this place. Once you arrive in Maienfeld you will have to walk about 30-40 minutes to reach \Heidi Village\ (Don't worry, the scenery on the way there is beautiful). You will get a discount if you have the Swiss Travel Pass. There is a souvenir shop as well. Heidi's house is amazing! Lots of things to see. It feels like going back to your childhood.
Heidiland, named after the fictional children’s book “Heidi”, is an important tourist area in Switzerland. Maienfeld is the center of what is called Heidiland; one of the villages, formerly called Oberrofels, is actually renamed \Heididorf\. Heidiland is located in an area called Bündner Herrschaft.
The walk there was amazing! Alps, animals, old houses a true dream place!
Worth visiting, especially if you have kids. I would also recommend watching the movie. It is really inspiring and very nice story.
Nice place for an excursion, however the attractions are a bit of a walk from the car park if you don't like walking
Breathtaking views! It's like we walked into heaven.
