I have been going to Malaysian delight for almost 10 years now. The quality of the food has gone down slightly through the years & the portion sizes have become smaller but this is still one of my favourite places to go to in Chinatown in Birmingham. The menu offers a wide variety of Malaysian dishes but there are some Chinese dishes as well. The food is full of flavour. I particularly like the Nyonya dishes. The wait to be seated & served is quite short. There is often a language barrier as not all the staff speak English but everyone is polite. The set up including the tables & decor is quite rustic. If you are looking for a quick meal while in Chinatown, then it is worth giving Malaysian delight a go.
They try their best to prepare authentic Malaysian food. Of course the food isn't as good as back home. But it is still pleasant to taste. Food is reasonably cheap. Good service as well. They adhere strictly to social distancing and track and trace.
I really liked this place; this is some kind of noodle dish with mixed meats and very tasty. Thank you!
It's a decent Malaysian restaurant in the Chinatown area that seems to be very popular as we had to wait a bit to get seated. This is a cash only place, very toned down decor (more functional/basic than trying to look nice), service is okay (staff were busy so you really had to grab their attention to get things done rather than politely waiting for them to attend to you), staff could be friendlier (they were not nasty or grumpy, but could have been more welcoming. This is probably a cultural thing so don't feel offended!). Food wise it was okay. A bit of a mixed bag; some dishes were nice, some were still nice but not authentic, some were so so. Cost wise, some dishes were expensive, some were average. This is not a wheelchair friendly place. Overall, it's pretty good just don't expect amazing.
