Atrocious service! Woefully understaffed to manage customer calls - the recorded message states that they are experiencing exceptionally high call levels but have cut the business hours in which to deal with customer queries. They do not offer an alternative form of contact such as an online chat facility or email address to facilitate ease of communication for customers with disabilities (I am partially deaf so struggle to hear on the telephone). They offer free business banking to new businesses - but I have just been sent a bill for charges on my account despite being a new business customer. I am at a loss as to how this bank can meet my business banking needs - perhaps I should just close my account as that might actually gain a response from the bank...if they even noticed that I had left!!

I ordered a new pin for my wife's debit Card about 4 weeks ago. This was a stressful experience because of the excessive wait time to be answered (just over 1 hr). I was told that the pins would be sent in the mail within 5 working days. After 6 days with no sign of the new PIN number, I telephoned the bank again. After another wait of 50 minutes, I was answered and told that the pin would be re-sent, but in case the post was not getting through to me, could she have an alternative address! I politely told her that this was nonsense and asked for the pin to be emailed to me. I was told that a third party issued the pin and so it would not be possible. After another week the pin had not arrived, so I telephoned again and waited 40 minutes to be answered. I was told that all the pins had definitely been sent and that the agent, Callum, could do nothing other than send the pin again, which he did. When asked about the third party company sending the pin, Callum assured me that the pins were dealt with in-house. I asked for a manager to phone me, and the next day Jenny, a manager, did phone. She again could not help me but said that she would re-send the pin, so that with two pins being sent it was likely to arrive. Six days later neither pin had arrived. Another 45 minute wait and I was put through to a female agent, who told me that she needed to speak to someone about the issue. 10 minutes later I was cut off. I phoned back and after a further 40 minute wait, spoke to Dan, who again could not help, but put me through to Steven, the Team Leader of Customer Services. His only solution was that he would look into the problem and get back to me in a week! Steven told me that the pins were handled by a third party company. What a shower! After over 50 years with the Coop Bank I am being forced to move to a bank that will be more caring in regard to its customers. How on earth can a bank be run by such inappropriate people?

Smile bank review. After nearly 15 years, I switched to Monzo and I'm much happier. Never had a credit card, loan or mortgage. Twice I asked for help in extending an overdraft by a couple of hundred pounds, when I really needed it. No. They reduced my overdraft by 800, again when I really needed it. As soon as I sorted out my finances sorted out, I switched. At no point did Smile try to call me, send me a letter to try and get me to stay. They just don't care, so they're toast. Avoid. There are much better challenger banks like Starling and Monzo that help you keep track of your spending, and have the same protection level. If a bank offers you nothing, what is their point?

Really poor banking. Complete lack of communication between branch and head office. Still waiting for them to process my business account opening after 6 weeks of waiting. Bank elsewhere.

The worst bank in the world! Twice this week Igo to use their smartphone banking app on faced with a 'whitescreen'! Then you have go to a web browser so many unnecessary levels of security requesting a password enter to of your digits fir security then verify which doesn't send you any texts! Have to resort to emails which still dont appear, until all do several minutes later! The music if you can call it that is terrible and dated like the bank. Will take the necessary steps to finally change my bank having been a customer here for over nine years! Poor!
