The rest of these reviews are 100% accurate. The cop asked how fast I was going and I said I didn’t think I was speeding and he said I was going 41 in a 30. Well right where the rail road tracks are is a sharp corner so there’s no way I was speeding. I’m from Minnesota and have never been pulled over before. First time and I get a 167 fine. What a joke. Never coming through this town again.

Manderson now has four part time police officers, it has become a speed trap, watch coming into town on highway 31, also watch driving past on highway 16/20/789 a good chance one officer is working. The town is bragging about the new revenue source. This officer is sitting on 16/20/789 north bound
We recently visited Wyoming for a two week vacation and followed google maps recommended route to Yellowstone East Entrance. The town of Manderson Wyoming is nothing but a speed trap. Stay on Route 90 through Spearfish! Avoid this town at all costs. The police sit in unmarked cars where the speed limit changes and they radar you while you are still in the higher speed zone but cite you as if you were speeded in the lower speed zone!
We were coming back from Yellowstone and used Google maps for best road routes to Buffalo, Wyoming. We weren't even in town yet and was crossing a railroad crossing and hit brakes as they are rough sometimes and there were 3 town police officers with one business and a dozen houses ready to pull me over for going 40 in a 30 mph non posted area. 180.00 ticket! He wrote the ticket so fast to get me out of there because with the flashing lights it was stopping their income! I am a senior and he was also trying to find out personal life I think to set me up with a crime! DON'T GO THROUGH THIS TOWN OR EAT AT THERE 1 BUSINESS! Who is going to fight a ticket in a town in the middle of nowhere and miles away and they know it!!!!
Do not drive through this town with out-of-state plates. Even if you go 25 MPH the officers will pull you over and write you a ticket. I understand that life in small-town-America is hard but charging a 100 tax on every out-of-state visitor through a dishonest speeding ticket scheme is pathetic.
This place is essentially a for profit police speed trap, however the officer was very nice when he gave me the fine
Crooked speed trap
Bored police officers with nothing better to do than pull over families traveling out-of-state who are certainly not intentionally speeding. Got cited 125 for going 40 in a 30 when my husband saw no posted sign. Unbelievable. Based on the previous review, sounds like they're just a bunch of rude money-grabbers.
