Just completed a 5 day silent meditation and yoga retreat and am ever so grateful to have spent it here. Apart from the setting which is simply stunningly beautiful - the amazing and generous people who live, work, share and volunteer here make sure your experience is unforgettable. Rooms are simple but comfortable, food is wholesome and soul-satisfying and the staff are knowledgeable and supportive. Thank you for your inclusiveness, authenticity and kindness. Chrissy English

Loved my experience at Mangrove Ashram. The food was great, the wisdom of the elders was appreciated as well as the newbies. I met some great peeps. Has changed my life and want to move forward in life. Hope this survives as the core of the Ashram reflects the original vision of Swami Satyananda Saraswati. Have been totally inspired by his Yoga Nidra practice l. Love to you all who contributed to the weekend.

While the quality of yoga that Mangrove Yoga teaches is quite high, this place has come under the spotlight of the Royal Commission for Institutional Response to Child Sexual Abuse. Not only has abuse occurred at this place, the treatment of survivors of such abuse, up to the present, has been shown to be poor, as found by the Royal Commission.

In association with one of the largest modern Yoga traditions in India, the Bihar School of Yoga, this ashram offers a truely authentic and balanced experience of Yoga. It offers a broad range of options to stay from personal retreats, woofing, to intense multiple-week programs. The quality of the teaching is outstanding, so is the fresh organic food and care to cater for any dietary needs. Perhaps most important is the warmth and openness of the residents and visiting community. A real place of learning, contemplation and connecting to yourself, away from the Internet and mobile reception. It is also a family place with special events for families throughput the year, The option to swim in the Mangrove Creek and bushwalking in the adjacent reserve are just the icing on this beautiful corner of our world. And don't miss what is likely the largest library on Yoga in Australia!
