Very informative about the Flint Hills. Be sure and watch the 15 minute film. Wind blows on your face and foam snow falls. Sit in the 1st 2 chairs on the left side and you will get covered in \snow\. 2nd floor is devoted entirely to kids activities. Very nice staff. Discount for Veterans.

This was a fantastic experience for the entire family. The scavenger hunt for my 4 year old helped to keep her focused and interested on the main level exhibit. We watched the Flint Hills film. It was educational and we enjoyed the 4D effects. Upstairs, there are many play areas for little ones to enjoy. The limitless options for hands-on fun for the kids is well worth the visit. All of the staff was friendly and willing to answer any questions we had. My only complaint was the single-ply toilet paper in the restrooms. We did appreciate the foot stools for the kids though.
I've been here just to visit and I've been here for a wedding as well, it's a great place. For a smaller town, Manhattan's choice to put in a Discovery center was a great one. The best thing about the Discovery center is that they are constantly changing what is being displayed, so every time that you come you learn something new!
Loved it. A detailed and entertaining look at the history of the Flint Hills.
If you're going for the dinosaur display.... They don't have any. Just video games.... Sterberg Museum in Hays, KS has amazing fossil and dinosaur displays plus rattle snakes from around the world. The Flint Hills displays didn't have many artifacts either. Go to the Prairie Museum in Colby, KS.
