Only tried the breakfast twice, there's a decent breakfast offer. Just make sure, you double check with the waiter, how you want your eggs, what sausage is available and if/which coffee is included. First time I got scrambled instead of sunny side eggs and English sausage instead of Hungarian. Second time when paying, they wanted to charge me the included coffee as extra (80 Pesos) since there's only instant coffee included, not brewed. The previous day one brewed coffee was included. It's more fun in the Philippines!

The Swagman is a great hotel in a great location. I stayed there for the first and last night of my Philippines holiday. They do airport pickups, but be aware that the van they will use to pick you up in has the name of the parent company on the side, 'Oriental Hotels and Resorts'. I was looking for a van with 'Swagman' signwriting and as such couldn't find it and ended up getting an unbelievably priced taxi to the hotel. The staff at the front desk are very friendly and helpful and made a number of phone calls for us when we decided to make a last minute bus booking. The rooms are clean and adequate. There is a restaurant and bar downstairs which serves really nice food. I ordered the smaller of the two burger options and it was huge, I saved half of it for breakfast the following day. Location wise, there are lots of convenience stores and fast food joints within a few minutes walk, and it's probably less than five minutes walk to the bay and some of the popular local bars. This hotel is great for foreigners who have just arrived in a strange foreign country and want the safety and security of staying somewhere where they can unwind and not get ripped off.

Lobbies are nice and presentable. Photos of rooms in several booking sites looks nice. I was assigned to room 25. They said I got an upgrade when I checked in. If you book in this hotel do not get room 25! I do not know if it’s just my room that’s not nice - gloomy, sheets doesn’t feel clean, cr is outdated, shower knobs are confusing and broken — I wanted the shower to turn on, it turns out I have to turn the lever in the heater to make the shower work. Well, not a fancy hotel so do not expect much. I am assuming right now that the other rooms are way nicer like the one in the photos in booking platforms. I passed by in the lobby, another room door was open, that room was nice compared to mine. So yeah, again, do not get room 25!

Good thing Swagman is closed now. Overpriced rooms and expensive food in the restaurant. Why stay here when you can stay at Red Planet Manila Bay nearby? Swagman had too many employees doing nothing. Also, the taxi mafia outside the hotel would bother me every time I entered and left the hotel, not to mention the street beggars. Goodbye Swagman. See you never.

Don't waste your time with this badly done theme bar. There's nothing Australian about this place. Nothing at all No Australian beer and the food was not only unAustralian but the most appalling, unappealing almost inedible dish I ate in the Philippines. Well I only ate part of it, hoping it would get better. Do yourself a favour and give this place a miss.

The hotel is nice..and been around for at least 20 years. The food is super good and delicious. The hotel staff very friendly and courteous. Outside dining is available and close to Eastern Doctor Hospital and American Embassy. Taxi service no problem and security not an issue of concern. All in all a pleasant stay and highly recommended.
