I adopted a dog from the rescue entity. The process went very smoothly. I was told up front of all of the pre-existing conditions the dog had. I was able to meet the dog in-person and fell in love with her. With that being said, I still adopted her. It was a perfect match! My best advice for any pet adoption anywhere is to ask questions BEFORE adopting and ask to meet the pet in-person BEFORE adopting. Not only will this save time for the adoption process, but it will save the pet of having a broken heart because it has to be sent back. I now take her here to get groom and they did a great job. She felt like a princess. I'll be coming back to get her groomed.

This place is disgusting. It's beyond filthy. I happened to be here once. The smell of cat pee, the awful condition of litter boxes.... I didn't even bother to look at the animals. The smell is so overpowering you can hardly stay there for more than 10 minutes. If you can't keep up with basic sanitary norms better close your shelter. I say this is abusing not helping animals.

I would not recommend any adoptions through Dog Gone Inn. Between the lack of communication, lack of follow through and now the numerous veterinary bills I will acquire- if I did not love animals, enough would be enough. I recently adopted a cat through DGI after visiting the Pawsitivitea Cafe (wonderful experience, excellent place and staff).. I picked him up a week later to see some discharge coming from his eye. I was told “it’s due to the ventilation system” (this wasn’t seen when I visited the week prior). Took him to the vet ASAP and was told he has herpes, which is contracted through contact with an infected cat. I acquired a 250 vet bill, which is just the beginning. I contacted Leah and was told I would not be reimbursed. I was offered a medication, however if they’re not a vet, I am not comfortable giving this to a cat and I have already paid for the medications needed. Unfortunately, I had been warned about this “rescue” before adopting through them, but hoped my experience would not be the same as the others stated. Also, 170 for a kitten is outrageous, especially to have medical bills piled on.
