Recently, I'd been experiencing tension in my upper back from doing yard work, as well as weather-related on-and-off migraines, which prompted me to schedule an appointment with Health Through Hands (plus the fact that I'd never gotten a massage before, and wanted to treat myself to one for some time). I'd heard about the massage therapist, Julia, from my mother-in-law, and booked my appointment with her. The staff was very friendly when I scheduled my appointment, and provided helpful answers to my many \first-timer\ questions. When I arrived at Health Through Hands, I was instantly greeted by a cheery and smiling Julia, who had me fill out a brief medical history sheet, and led me to a massage room soon thereafter. Julia's massage room was quiet, had soft ambient guitar music, and smelled of wonderful essential oils. Her massage table was also very warm (it's heated--yay!), and it was comfortable thanks to strategically placed pillows and sheets. Julia was very friendly, communicative, and helped me feel at ease during my entire massage experience. She emphasized that I didn't need to remove any clothing that I didn't want to, and that I should let her know when something feels good (or doesn't). Julia really listened to what I wanted to get out my massage, and adapted her massage style to fit my needs. She did a wonderful job on my my tense back with broad and focused strokes and by targeting specific pressure points--all of which felt great and really penetrated deeply into my muscles. I left Health Through Hands feeling extremely relaxed and refreshed. My only complaint is that I didn't book a longer massage (which led me to book another)! I would absolutely recommend Health Through Hands for a wonderful, rejuvenating, and therapeutic massage experience. Thank you so much for helping me feel better, Julia!
