Alas no portage facilities are provided on any of these hydroelectric dams,perhaps I should have stayed on the Rhin next door...at least there was a place to camp behind the canal wall.

Interesting place to visit
Spectacular engineering magic on the Rhine. It's a water lock for boats to change levels. Our visit was unintentional. We saw people on the bridge watching and stopped. There were 3 huge boats locked in the holding. Curious to know how you can plan a visit to see this unforgettable sight in action.
Our family watched one barge go through the locks. Really enjoyed it.
Nice Place to watch how a sluice works.
