I am shocked at the level of disregard shown to my mum today. My mum has had a brain tumor removed and has subsequently suffered multiple strokes. Her mobility and balance is compromised. I requested a wheelchair multiple times from the gentlemen doing the check in. My mum was forced to walk all the way from the car thru the boarding gates since no wheelchair was provided. I was told repeatedly the weelchair will be given later. The most shocking part was my mums caregiver was asked to leave my my mums hand and let her hold onto the table while they checked the hand luggage. I could not do anything because I was stuck in a queue to check hand luggage, which was not moving at all. My mum cannot stand or sit without assistance. They eventually brought the wheelchair after my mum was processed at the boarding gates and had to walk to a sofa in the waiting area. That in fact was the shortest distance to the aircraft. I requested a wheelchair when I booked and also paid for the weelchair assist. The so called person in charge was rude and should not be the face of Cemair. He has absolutely no peoples skills or compassion. I recommend that he apologize to my mum to make some amends. The pilot and Co pilot were very helpful and on arrival in jhb they organised a washing chair. Thank you.
