Really great and peaceful place. Visited here for a Bat Mitzvah. The ushers were super friendly and nice. This was my first visit to a synagogue and i really felt at peace. The rabbi conducting the ceremony was really nice and witty and made the entire ceremony fun.

I saw Rebecca's review from 3y ago and I wanted to note that I had the complete opposite experience being fully Chinese. I joined the synagogue about 3 years ago, so this is a more recent take. The rabbi makes great sermons and has to take a stand; the best ones do. He is passionate about many issues, but I would never confuse it with anger or an unwillingness to listen. We have compromised on many topics and it is his ability to listen that makes him a great rabbi. I think the community is also very good. Even after moving to Princeton Junction, my family and I are still active within TRT. Lastly, reform judaism (and religion in general) is currently at an inflection point. A lot of the sentiments may be directly attributed to that. If you're looking for a great community, I think TRT is worth a look and an evaluation.

This is the one place where community becomes your family and you make friends for life. Down to earth and accepting people with intelligent conversations and big hearts:-)

I have been a member since 1992 and I used to like it there, but I always felt left out being half German half Chinese, another words half Jewish. The place was still okay but in the last 5-7 years they have been all about the ritz. They are no longer a caring temple now more of a money making machine and the rabbi is on top of that mountain. I have heard this from a few people. And I heard and have known the full extent of his anger if he doesn't get his way. I think working with his wife has made him a very sad little man. I'm not going to make a club out of people that hate TRT but before you join really take a look behind that fake smile and if you are a member and you are not happy voice your opinion or leave.
