My son recently ran from the center and iv called to try n get his belongings n was told i can not get his belongings . I think as his mother i should b able to get it. And then told it would jst get donated. I feel this is so very unfair . I would understand if i was a gf or jst a friend but im the lady who went threw 17.5 hours of labor. Im jst not anyone im his mother. The staff is so very rude n unprofessional. I so would not recommend anyone to go there. They try n set u up a is not helpful to the ppl thete or to the familes . Im telling if anyone want to have a life on the outside DO NOT go to marshalltown work release.

Residential staff member Don Piper, recently planted counterfeit 100 bills throughout the facility I guess in hopes that one of the residents would take it and try to spend it...trifling! Her supervisor gave her a “stern talking to” when she should’ve been fired. Other staff members are seen acting inappropriately ie; feeding each other PDA and I could imagine what else. Residents do not report situations due to fear of retaliation. This is unethical unfair and unexceptable an investigation into this woman Don Piper, her supervisor and her fellow coworkers needs to and should be done, people need to be fired and not allowed to work in any type of field where another human is under their supervision. It’s disgusting! The food is the worst you could serve my family member is on medication for high blood pressure since entering this facility the living conditions are small and confined it’s two people to a room and they charge them 600 a month in rent for a bed and bologna sandwiches. The kitchen staff done where gloves or hair nets or gloves. I’ve seen this myself. The staff lie and protect one another when they take more money than necessary from residents accounts. This is outrageous
It helps felons get back to work and be productive in society
