Lived up the road at what is now the Concord Hill Bed and Breakfast. My mother and father, Joseph and Gloria Klein, along with three younger sisters would stop by the store, which at the time had an honor system in place, shop and upon leaving would place the money in the basket. The house we lived in was in desperate need of repair. My folks worked all the time just supporting us. The Peers store was a part of Americana. God bless.

Located in the century-old town of Peers, just below Concord Hill, Peers Store proudly celebrates over 120 years of business. Originally known as Glosemeyer Store, this charming store building was owned and operated by Linus and Loretta Glosemeyer for over 60 years. The store served the Concord Hill community for many years as a general merchantile. After closing for a few years, the store was purchased and renovated. It is now restored to its former glory and a distinctive gem along the Katy Trail. Peers Store now stands ready to take on another century in the river bottoms of the Missouri heartland.
