Small very focused on history of Maryport. Friendly staff gave detailed account of "how it all began". Somehow the small size of the museum made it more intriguing. On two levels, very clean and modern inside. What also adds interest is that the docks highlighted in the museum are just over the bridge. Well worth a visit for adults and I would say older children, say 7 up.

Lovely little museum. Interesting artifacts and some Titanic associations too.
Great little museum, gives you an insight in to the history of maryport and its famous sons.
Hugely interesting. Knowledgeable curator who gave us a potted history of Maryport. Well worth a visit and needs your support to remain open due to continual assessment by council.
Unique history of a still running narrow gauge rail system. It's free to roam around and plenty to see and learn about. You get a chance to see and touch the little engines...facinating for all the family.
Very interesting History of Maritme maryport, definitely worth a visit !!
