Visited Matalan today, all was well until we went to pay, we were marshalled into a queue for card payments and shunted over to a self service machine whilst there were other card machine's available with no staff on hand to use them, the young man was very officious and patronising, one lady was ages as she had to wrap her own wine glasses in tissue, you even have to remove your own tags, i fully understand things are different due to Covid, but i suggest Matalan bosses take a look at how Dunhelm do it.......properly......with little disruption to customers. And someone please instruct the young man in some customer service skills and tell him not to patronise someone 3 times his age with experience of life and incidentally 55 years of retail experience under their belt. Very UNIMPRESSED, will not be going again. The only reason i gave it 3 stars was i was happy with the item i bought.

Be careful. Sale items may not be genuine! The original price of this was 6. Apparently so was the sale price. I was told various stories by staff!

When my partner went in store and asked the lady in uniform if there was any chance she could check if they had a suit in a different size she was yelled at by the woman who asked \Do I not look busy\. Bad day or not this is unacceptable behaviour

Tons of room, lots of \sales points\ (that's tills in normal language), one of the largest Matalan stores around. They play music for ambience but they've got the volume just about right, and the music's not bad either. Overall, quite a nice experience.
